Miami, FL, November 20, 2007 – Marcela Mumet participates once more at the upcoming Art Basel 2007 and will present her new collection. This time using a different art technique, “Mixed Media.”
Marcela C. Mumet was born in Cordoba, Argentina in 1972 and studied art since she was 5 years old. At a small town in Cota Azur, France, Marcela studied under the great master of Impressionism, Raffy Le Persan, (sole survivor of the Academy of Impressionism).
Marcela’s had the honor of exhibiting numerous paintings alongside masters, such as, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Steven Klein, in a recent Glaad auction held in New York, October 2007. She has made a name for herself and her paintings are considered “high end” in the art world.
Her new collection of paintings consists of Mixed Media materials, such as; acrylic, collage, abstract, and cartoon. Her inspiration for the new collection came from various mystic personalities she encountered throughout Europe and far away places filled with life. She had the freedom to express on canvas what she felt. Her Abstract work is filled with rich imagination, lively colors, luminosity, drama, and aggressiveness.
“One of my paintings has “little people” working & sculpting a giant nude woman’s body with a large dragon tattoo on it. They are achieving the perfect form of the feminine body.”
Marcela’s paintings will be exhibited at the upcoming Art Basel 2007 in Miami Beach & Design District, which takes place on the 6,7,8, and 9th of December 2007. She’s exhibiting 40 different paintings this year, which will be distributed between two locations, “The new Collection is a Surprise”.
